First of all, it has only been two days, but I am already SO FREAKING OVER maple syrup. jfc, I can't stand ittttt. (And I am so ready for a steak.)

Second, Fishpond.com.au is SO AWESOME. I just bought 4 things, for $105, and got free shipping AND a $5 discount off my next order! This must be what using Amazon is like for Americans. (I got Your Brick Oven for Mum, NBC Sunday Night Football Cookbook for Sister, and both The New Food Lover's Tiptionary and Clifford's Doodle Pad for me.)

Third, it is keepaofthecheez's birthday! Hurray! Everyone should shower her in sparkles and ponies!

Fourth, poor Ryan, (after having his crazy girlfriend admit to cheating before giving him crazy Rules to abide by, and then breaking up with her) has slipped in the kitchen and burnt three of his fingers. Kid can't seem to catch a break lately.

comments

We invented an awesome drink last night at work, called the BabySugarComa. Take a babycino cup, put chocolate sundae topping in the bottom. Cover with foamed milk, and sprinkle mini m&ms on top. Really, it's more a dessert than a drink. (Other variations include using oreo crumbs and caramel, or a shot of espresso and a flake to stir.) SO GOOD.

Relatedly, tomorrow after work I have to do my shopping for the Master Cleanse, which I'm starting on Wednesday. Mum started a few days ago, so fingers crossed that I do better, please!

I'm also hoping to get (more) moved in in the next couple of days - next on my list is my mugs (I have A LOT), books, and clothes-that-I-won't-need-for-a-week. And also to get the furniture arranged over there, so I can start unpacking.

comments

jfc, don't EVER try to look at a tv or stereo catalogue with teenage guys. I just want something to stick my ipod and cds into! I do not want to spend two thousand on a tv, nor do I need speakers taller than I am!

I've been teaching Ryan how to order-take in drive-thru - it's pretty hilarious, there are SO many buttons, and half of them make combinations, and he's still not quite 100% on just verbally taking the order while punch it in. But it makes me feel better, after losing the races (ALL the races) we had in the grill earlier this week. Once the bun is toasted (which takes 17 seconds), he can make a cheeseburger in 16 seconds! I am nowhere NEAR that fast, but I can order-take and cashier $1000+ hours without mistakes.

I got the last few installments on Days of Our Ryan - the soap-opera that is teen life in Sorell, apparently. Frankly, my head started spinning two girlfriends ago - I'm sure teenage girls weren't this batshit when I was one! Maybe the poor guy has a knack for picking the nutjobs. This one comes pre-packaged with Psycho Ex-BF/Current Possible Stalker (she says he's coming over and harassing her, but he's miraculously not there when Ryan shows up), Flirting with Other Guys, and Passive-Aggressive text-messaging. (Does anyone know a nice, sane, 17-year-old girl? He's a really nice guy...)

I bought a couple more things for my house, power-boards and a new doorbell; as long as I get the rosters done tonight, I'll be moving crap over tomorrow (maybe putting up Mum's passed-on Ikea shelves) and maybe checking out the local furniture stores for chest-of-drawers/tall-boys/big wooden thing to put clothes in. I also need some paint... do I want dark grey shelves, or white? or dark brown? (currently, they're magenta.)(ooh, also need to look in the Garden Shed of Crap - see if there's some useable paint there!) Friday will be hair-dyeing day. Did you know the 24 hour skin allergy test is now 48 hours? I never used to do them, but a girl at work gave herself streaks and then her hair started to fall out, so this time I'm doing the skin test, then the strand test. Hopefully by Saturday I'll be a golden blonde.

comments
